Stravinsky's music used to be thought wild because of the Rite of Spring, though his ballets such as Petrushka, Firebird, The Fairy's Kiss, Pulcinella follow on from the tradition of Tchaikovsky. Some of his later music is considered less approachable, as he experimented with twelve tone techniques.
